ENGLISH

This past saturday, the 23rd of January, we, along with the organization OMEL-US, Reverend Jose S Landaverde, “El Terrible” from radio station “La Ley 107.9”, and many more marched to Federal Plaza on Jackson and Dearborn  to have our message well understood in president Obama’s beloved town; Stop the Deportations! The raids and deportations by the Democrat Obama, have demonstrated that in reality, neither of the two big parties cares about the lives of thousands of decent, hardworking people, much less the lives Central American child refugees. The fact that there is still a debate as to what to do with the masses of Latin American refugees and migrant workers is an absolute disgrace. Although we have no problem that one of the goals of the principal march organizers was to deliver a letter to the office of Senator Dick Durbin, one thing we’d like to accomplish is the dissolution of the two party capitalist and opportunist system and open the doors for more varied voices within American politics. As Socialists, we say that frankly, when it comes to immigration law, we are talking about human rights, and it should be treated as such. It’s a shame that we need to take to the streets to have our voices be heard, but while; employers threaten and exploit their employees with deportation, the police forces detain and brutalize people with no crime committed other than being in the country illegally, and politicians deny the basic human rights of migrants and the constitutional rights of their children who are citizens; we will be involved in fighting the abuses committed by members of American government, even at this very moment. Hand in hand and without fear, we stand with the Latin American community and the migrant community. Obama has deported more than 2.5 million of our brothers and sisters, NOT ONE MORE!
